7/15/26 Venice Italy

Good morning Venice!!wonderful to see you again ❤️
Our captain timed the sail in so well  with the sunrise

This is our second time back here (first time was more than two decades ago) , so we are not going to do a lot (like the gondolas and basilica de san marco) just devide and conquering…. I’m touring the palazzo ducale and P is checking out the biennale di Venezia (the Olympics of the art world that happens every two years)

Captain Mathew, hotel manage Clair and entertainment director Nikki….

Taking a water shuttle from Piazzale Rome to Rialto… We finally started seeing Asian faces a lot after so many days of almost the only two Asian faces around

On a water bus
Rialto Bridge
Basiclica di San Marco…
Palazzo ducale (Doge’s Palace)
St marks campanile

Coffee stop at Piazza San Marco at a restaurant that has been there since 1720

The Cafe is called Cafe Florian, it’s an establishment as many famous people frequent here in their days…. Casanova, lord Byron, Dickens   proust, Hemingway… Etc

They have musicians playing outside
We only found out about how famous this café is 1 day after we attend an enrichment class on the ship….. What a lucky pick!!
It’s forbidden to feed the pigeons now, when we were here so many years ago, the pigeons were many and aggressive

Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace)

Thought it’s going to be crowded, but not too bad, the basiclica’s line is scarier….

The bridge of sigh

Biennale Di Venezia

P humbly said la Biennale is mostly in a similar concept group presented in a variety of topics or media. Few stood out as memorable, unfortunately. Probably will not go again…

Spaghetti again for me..   My comfort food…
We really feel that Italians provides genuine kind and sincere service all around, very connecting and real

Venice is suffering from over tourism as well…… You wonder where are the residents…. But of course still very charming

Local Insider Tip: When navigating narrow alleys, say “Permesso!” to politely slide past people. If you want to toast your glasses of wine, use the Venetian word “Chinchin!” (“Cheen-cheen”) or the classic “Salute!” (“Sah-loo-teh”).
