Curonian Spit National Park

UNESCO World Heritage site, stunning sand dunes, and beautiful beaches. Great for hiking and bird watching. This is a very interesting geographical phenomena, The Curonian Spit is a sandy peninsula in the Baltic Sea, 99 km long but only 0.5 to 4 km wide. Its northern part is in Lithuania Minor and its south in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad Oblast: both countries regard it as a national park and it’s a bi-national UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lunch first before we start exploring this unesco site… The darker beer is called Kvass, bread beer with only 1% alcohol

Cepelinai… Lithuanian’s national dish…. Large potato dumplings filled with meat, served with sour cream and dill… I like it!!

Smiltynė Beach

Beautiful sandy beach ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Because it’s Sunday, the beach is full of locals and tourists…. P who actually touched the water says the Baltic sea still feels cold despite of the sun and temperature of 25.
