10/23/24 Nha Trang Vietnam

The ship docked at Cam Ranh and it’s 1 hour away from Nha Trang…

It’s really raining hard in the morning

Welcome party at the port

Today instead of ship excursion.. We were on our own and found an on the spot assembled group tour of 12 on a mini bus…. On tours like these, the drivers usually don’t speak English but they took you to the major attractions for a fraction of the cruise ship excursion, which is fine with us

They sell Portuguese egg tart at local KFC and it’s πŸ˜‹

Other random street scene

Lunch at local pho restaurant

They serve their pho with soup and noodles separate..Β  Love the pork grind bits on top, the whole meal including two main dishes and two drinks only costs $9.00
Ship view on the way back to it
Reward ourselves with vodka and Coke

…. And then tried on the Vietnamese long dress that I finally found for $10.00

Overall, another successful outing on our second port in Vietnam

Bye Vietnam…. We didn’t get to see the country side of you but I’m sure it’s beautiful with its mountains and seas and rice fields and…….

10/22/24 Ho Chi Ming city Vietnam

It started with a very gloomy morning…. They said it’s going to rain 100% for sure… And we are glad it did… Otherwise it’s too unbearably hot and humid….. The whole city felt like a big Sauna and it’s really baking……

However we were excited to be here in this very characteristic country and historic city… We joined the ship’s excursion and it’s a full day excursion…. Lots of getting in and out to see places and take pictures.

Good morning Vietnam!!!!…. Misty morning arrival at port
Pleasantly awoke by very strong delicious ice espresso with milk…. Vietnamese style
Buzzling street scenes
Grab bike taxi service  πŸ˜†… Passengers ride on Grab (equivalent of Uber) bike….. Thailand also have this…. Very interesting
Many street food with low tables and chairs looked so yummy πŸ˜‹
Modern side of Ho Chi Ming city… Complete with KFC, Starbucks, rolls royce dealership… Etc
Central post office with Renaissance architecture
Lunch was buffet and a show at a hotel…. Love the Vietnamese long dress!
The famous Independence palace where South Vietnam government hands over the country to north Vietnam
The gate now
The gate then…. That tank is now a hero and had it’s own museum 🀣
A Chinese temple in Chinatown, the twirling insense that’s up for purchasing and blessing can burn up to 1 week long
National flower of vietnam is the lotus flower, they said the embryo of the lotus helps with insomnia
Our wonderful and energetic guide Ten, shows us pic of where the last US helicopter took off during the war…. we saw this scene in the show Miss Saigon!

Vietnamese people seem to all have a calm and sweet demeanor but they are also tough and strong and were able to fend off multiple genkhis khan’s mongols invasion and of course won many wars including with the US πŸ˜‰

Did not get a long dress but got a hat πŸ™Œ

10/20/24 Bangkok (Laem chaban)

We originally planned to go to Pattaya for this port stop but someone hijacked us to join them on a local tour to Bangkok that’s missing two people… Which is perfect!!

First stop is the Talingchang floating market which is everything I have looked for at this stop … Lots of street food, perfect vibe… Had the best tom yang soup noodles πŸ˜‹

Salak!! First time tasted this new fruit

And then it’s multiple stopping at Emperial palace, temples…. We didn’t go inside because we did not dress properly and do not want to rent cloth

Tuk Tuk

Singapore 10/14-10/17/24 pre 32 day cruise from Sin to LA

Always great to be back to the place I grew up and with P…. Singapore is a glorious garden city and gets more and more modern and metropolis by the year…

We did a little bit of sight seeing by the Marine bay, MBS and Merlion. The light and water show by the MBS is memorable

Also tried a lot of food that I missed and craved πŸ˜‹

Met with dear childhood friends, enjoyed intimate high tea, happy hours and epic meals

My dear friend gave me an orchid plant for my room 🀩

Day 112, 5/9/24 Los Angeles!! Home sweet home

Finally!! We finished circumvent the world in 111 days.. felt fatigue physically but enriched spiritually. Thanks to all the wonderful people we met on this journey, all those beautiful places we went, gorgeous weather everywhere.

Shipmates and crews that makes our journey magical

We learned a little bit more about the world and the people on it and we were intrigued and inspired . Can’t wait to check out more in the future… Quite a few of our ship mates already booked the 2026 world cruise and encouraged us to do the same… We want to wait and see…. Let this one settle in first…. Thanks to everyone that follow us around the worldπŸ«ΆπŸ‘‹πŸ’«

Day 111, 5/8/24 Day 2 of 2 sea days to Los Angeles

A whirlwind last day… Many goodbyes were said amongst shipmates and crews…. We were both making our rounds through our various activities to say our final goodbyes…

Already packed my ukelele before they announced taking a group photo… Wonderful strumming with this group of people

Later it’s the farewell variety show where the entertainers gives a final spectacular performance and the officers came out to say goodbye

The dancers and singers who gave it all during every performance
This gentleman belted out an Andre bocelli’s aria and stunned every one!!
The officers and managers of each department
And when we walked out of the theater, the crew lined the hall way, wave small flags and cheer us on…. Super touched by the scenery, reminds me of the last scene of Titanic πŸ˜†

Day 110, 5/7/23 Day 1 of 2 sea days to Los Angeles

Thick clouds open a slit for the sun to peep through…. Another creative sun rise show!!
Cruise Director Andi interviewed Linda Gray from Dallas TV series at the Princess Theatre today.. A graceful, elegant and loving lady whose still very active in entertainment industry and philanthropist work

Other than that we spent the day doing: packing, zumba, ukulele, ping pong, trivias, feasting and socializing… As busy as ever

Cheers to last two sea days before home…
